The Arab pharmaceutical manufacturing industry is undergoing a period of significant growth and strategic transformation. With a collective market value exceeding USD 30 billion in 2025 and projected to reach USD 42 billion by 2030, the sector is driven by a shared regional ambition to strengthen self-sufficiency, enhance production capacity, and reduce dependence on imports.
This momentum is supported by expanding healthcare needs, increasing public and private investments, and focused government initiatives aimed at boosting local production, particularly in generics, biotechnology, and value-added pharmaceutical segments.
Jordan continues to lead the region as a centre of pharmaceutical excellence. With a mature industrial base, a skilled workforce, and strong regulatory compliance aligned with international GMP standards, Jordan exports to more than 60 countries and remains a trusted supplier across the Middle East, Africa, and parts of Europe.
The country’s industry is marked by its ability to adapt to new technologies and regulations while maintaining high standards in quality and safety. This has reinforced Jordan’s position as a vital contributor to regional pharmaceutical resilience and innovation.
Across the broader Arab region, manufacturing capabilities are expanding in countries such as Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, and the UAE. Governments are increasingly prioritizing pharmaceutical industrialization as a national objective, integrating it with healthcare security, economic diversification, and job creation. Contract manufacturing is gaining traction as local and international firms seek flexible, cost-effective production solutions. Biopharmaceuticals, APIs, and high-tech formulations are becoming key areas of focus, alongside strategic regulatory reforms to improve market access and expedite licensing.
The Arab Pharma Manufacturers’ Expo 2025 reflects these industry trends and the collective aspiration of Arab nations to establish a robust, interconnected pharmaceutical ecosystem. The event served as a platform for fostering cross-border collaborations, technology transfer, and regulatory harmonization – driving the region toward a future of innovation, accessibility, and industrial strength in pharmaceutical manufacturing.
