PharmaTech Expo & LabTech Expo 2025 Paves the Way for Pharmaceutical Innovation and Growth

With its strong focus on collaboration and innovation, the 19th edition of PharmaTech Expo & LabTech Expo 2025, Chandigarh, successfully held from April 10th to 12th, 2025, at the Parade Ground, Sector 17, Chandigarh, cemented its position as a leading event in the pharmaceutical industry, setting the stage for future advancements and breakthroughs.

The success of PharmaTech Expo & LabTech Expo 2025, organized by PharmaTechnologyIndex.Com Pvt. Ltd., was marked by its ability to foster meaningful connections and spark innovative ideas. Through its comprehensive showcase of pharmaceutical technology and laboratory equipment, the event provided a platform for industry professionals to explore new trends, share knowledge, and drive growth.

PharmaTech Expo & LabTech Expo 2025 covered an area of 15,000 square meters, featuring over 300 exhibitors from across the industry. The event attracted approximately 5,000 visitors, including industry professionals, entrepreneurs, regulatory authorities, and delegates.

The event was inaugurated on 10th April 2025 by Chief Guest Shri Harshwardhan Chauhan, Honourable Minister for Industries, Himachal Pradesh. In his inaugural address, the Minister said: “In an era where the pharmaceutical and pharma machinery industries are growing at an unprecedented pace, platforms like PharmaTech Expo are vital. They enable knowledge exchange, showcase innovation, and ensure that Indian industry stakeholders maintain a competitive edge on the global stage.” The Inauguration ceremony was attended by several dignitaries, including:

The expo featured a series of seminars and panel discussions. On 10th April, a panel discussion on the Revised Schedule M took place, focusing on Gap Analysis. Mr. Aarjav Shah, CEO of PharmaTechnologyIndex.com Pvt. Ltd., delivered the welcome address. Dr. Rajesh Gupta, President of the Himachal Drug Manufacturers Association (HDMA), presented the opening remarks, followed by the Keynote Address from Dr. H. G. Koshia, Commissioner of the FDCA, Gujarat.

Shri Harish Jain, President, Federation of Pharmaceutical Entrepreneurs (FOPE) set the context for panel discussion. Dignitaries participated include: Shri. Raja Bhanu, Director General, PHARMEXCIL, Dr. Pradeep Mattu, Former Joint Commissioner Drugs, Punjab, Dr Manish Kapoor, State Drugs Controller, Himachal Pradesh, Shri. Sushant Sharma, Deputy Drugs Controller (India), CDSCO, Himachal Pradesh, Shri Manmohan Taneja, State Drugs Controller, Haryana, Amit Duggal, Assistant Commissioner of Food and Drugs Administration in Punjab.

A seminar titled “SAMATA – Balancing Act: Quality, Energy, and Innovation in Pharma” was held on 11th April, organized by the ASHRAE and ISHRAE Chandigarh chapters. The welcome address was delivered by Mr. Money Khanna, President-Elect of ASHRAE Chandigarh Chapter and Treasurer of ISHRAE Chandigarh Chapter. Additional addresses werb e given by Mr. S. Balkar Singh, President of ASHRAE Chandigarh Chapter, and Mr. Mukul Grover, President of ISHRAE Chandigarh Chapter.

The seminar featured several insightful presentations. Mr. Manpreet Singh spoke on energy conservation opportunities in pharma utilities through energy audits; Mr. Pradeep Singh presented on smart air handling in pharma – improving indoor air quality and energy efficiency; Mr. Ravinder Singh discussed the critical role of refrigeration in pharmaceutical manufacturing and storage; and Mr. Bhupinder Singh Parmar addressed optimizing pharma facility programs – effective testing and commissioning strategies.

The panel discussion on “China Plus One (C+1): Possibilities and Challenges in the Pharmaceutical & Medical Devices Sector” was held on 11th April. Dr. Anil Kumar Angrish, Associate Professor at NIPER S.A.S. Nagar, spoke about the need for the China Plus One strategy due to India’s dependence on China for APIs, highlighting the opportunities this presents for India. Prof. Anand Sharma, also from NIPER S.A.S. Nagar, discussed existing initiatives aimed at achieving self-reliance in APIs and medical devices, such as the PLI scheme for Bulk Drugs, Bulk Drug Parks, and the PLI scheme for Medical Devices.

Other distinguished speakers included Mr. Supreet Singh, Founder & CEO of Psychocare Health Pvt. Ltd.; Mr. Punit Bansal, Director & Promoter of Theon Pharmaceuticals; Dr. G. S. Pandey, Director of GAMP Technologies Pvt. Ltd.; and Dr. D. N. Dikshit, Director of Aqex Pharma Solutions Pvt. Ltd.
